IslandGuide ("we", "us") operates the IslandGuide app and website (the "Service"), a multi-island guide and booking directory for Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Aruba, Curaçao and Saba.

1. Information we collect

Personal data: name, email, login credentials and, for vendors, billing details processed by Stripe. We never store full card numbers.

Location data: with your permission we use precise and approximate location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) in the foreground to show nearby beaches, dive sites, restaurants and ferry terminals. Offline distance calculations happen on your device.

Usage & device data: device model, OS, IP address, searches, island and category selections, and crash logs.

2. How we use it

To run maps and listings, generate tracked affiliate booking links, manage vendor subscriptions, and improve performance and offline caching.

3. Third parties & affiliate disclosure

Booking and product links (e.g. Travelpayouts, Booking.com, Viator, Amazon Associates) may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. We use Supabase (hosting), Stripe (payments) and Google Maps Platform. We do not sell your personal data.

3a. Advertising & cookies

We may show ads served by Google (Google AdSense). Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before using advertising cookies.

The interactive map is provided by Google Maps; your use of it is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Security & offline storage

All traffic uses HTTPS/TLS and our database enforces Row-Level Security. Offline map tiles and listings stay inside the app sandbox.

5. Your rights & account deletion

You can revoke location access in your device settings at any time. Delete your account in the app under Settings > Delete Account, or email [privacy@yourapp.com].

6. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13.
